Family Origins will be the Focus this annual Labor Day Salzburger Heritage Festival and Celebration at New Ebenezer, Georgia. The speaker will be Vincent “Vince” Exley, Chair of the Special Genealogy Research Project and Loest Research Library. His topic will be “The Loest Research Library: Learning More about Who We Are.” Vince will be dressed in Salzburger costume. Another feature on this year’s program of events is the introduction of Volume III of the series, IMMIGRANT FAMILIES IN EBENEZER, GA. “It is expected to be ready for publishing and on sale this day”, says Vince, SGRP chairman. The book will have the title RIESER, the spelling of the name when the family arrived at Ebenezer in 1734/35, and the spelling very much present in the land of Salzburg today.

LUNCH ... Jerusalem Lutheran Church partnering with GSS will provide lunch at the church...a BBQ dinner (BBQ, string beans, potato salad, roll, pickles and iced tea) with desserts made by many of the congregation members. Cost of tickets is $10 in advance by calling 912-754-7001 (may leave your telephone # and name; we'll return your call ASAP) or may mail a check to 2966 Ebenezer Road, Rincon, GA 31326. You are welcome to stop by the church office to purchase tickets. Meal will be served from 11:30 am until all is gone. When meeting is over, please come to the social hall. There will be extras but it does not usually last long. If you prefer a lighter fare... the youth will also be serving Bratwurst on the grounds. Added this year --- is the sale of char-grilled Boston butts for $20.00.  If you would like to purchase a Boston butt, please call us and prepay by calling Jerusalem Church (912-754-3915), email jerusalemlc@gmail.comAdvanced payment is requested for the Boston butts only.  Checks are to be mailed to:  Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 966 Ebenezer Road, Rincon, GA 31326.

There will be outside activities (some added activities this year) including the MarktPlatz with handmade items to sell, jellies, jams, pickles and fresh local produce along with native plants. AND THAT GOOD OLE TIMEY LEMONADE MADE IN THE BARREL!!
