Heritage Day Festival
The speaker will be Richard Loper, Immediate Past President of Historical Effingham Society. His topic is "John Adam Treutlen, Georgia's First Constitutional Governor" and he will come dressed in costume as Treutlen, who was a leading citizen of early Ebenezer and Effingham County. Another feature on this year's program of events is the return of six old historic books to Ebenezer--old books from the colonial period and books that were owned primarily by the early pastors at Ebenezer. These books, currently held by Newberry College (SC), will be formally transferred to the GSS Museum and put on display for the first time in this era.
The Hinely Poster Contest theme is "John Adam Treutlen, Georgia's First Constitutional Governor." You may call the office at 912-754-7001 or email to email@example.com for additional information and Entry Form. Deadline for receiving entries ... August 22, 2012.
